Weddings at Toft Estate
Set on the edge of the Peak District, Toft Estate is the
perfect place to celebrate your special day. With dazzling views across the
Cheshire Planes that blossom in the sunset hours, your night will be one to
remember! Although we don’t have a wedding licence, the estate is often used
for Cheshire or Staffordshire wedding receptions and non-religious ceremonies.
Made up of 4 buildings, Toft Estate can sleep up to 48 (Toft Hall for 20, Chels Barn for 12, Toft Barn for 12, Toft Nook for 2-4). Your guests are able to spend the weekend without worrying about finding local accommodation, taxis or closing times.
Self-catered Accommodation for All
One of the reasons Toft Estate is a popular Cheshire and Staffordshire wedding reception venue is due it being self-catered. This means we do not charge any corkage fees if you bring in a caterer, or your own drinks and DJs. This provides flexibility in tailoring your day exactly how you desire, avoiding extra costs for bar drinks and wedding breakfasts. You won’t even have to worry about staff on-site, the estate is all yours!
It is common for wedding receptions to rent a marquee, enabling extra guests to attend and dine together. If you choose to hire a marquee, we ask that the marquee supplier checks the land prior to setting it up. Marquees are only possible in the garden of Toft Barn.
Please note, we charge £15 per person, per day for guests that exceed the
48 that the estate sleeps.
Toft Estate Accommodation
The focus of the estate is Toft Hall. Toft Hall is a 400 year old, Grade II listed manor house, once the home of the Sheriff of Staffordshire. The surrounding outbuildings (Chels Barn and Toft Barn) have recently been renovated to contemporary modern barns. Toft Nook for 2-4 guests, is isolated from the other buildings, but is located in the courtyard which is perfect for guests who want to be slightly secluded.

The largest dining room is in Chels Barn and sits 24 guests, so we do advise you to rent a marquee if you want everyone to dine under the same roof.
On & Off-site Activities
Being situated in the spectacular Peak District, you will find yourself surrounded by
peaceful private gardens and endless fields in which you can indulge in a tasty BBQ.
From the start of 2023 we will have 2 x five person hot tubs at the Toft Estate, meaning you will not have to hire out from a third party supplier.
To spice up your special day, you can bring in a range of activities. We can recommend our event concierge, from My Event Concierge, The field next to the Toft Estate can be used for a wide range of activities such as archery, axe throwing, laser clay pigeon shooting, and more. You could even host a murder mystery, or cocktail making event in the venue itself. You’ll also find Madrenalin Activities, based only a 2 minute drive away offering activities like body zorbing or Segway, that you might never have done before!
Extra Information
Please note, being based in the Peak District, we require a little bit of attention to respect our surroundings. We have not had any issues in over 15 years, but we request guests to be sensible about loud outdoor music into the early hours of the morning. We also cannot allow fire lanterns, or firepits for health and safety reasons
Lastly, we would like to point out there is a public footpath close to the estate, where the occasional hiker may pass by.
